About the project: My research project focused on perceptions of neighborhood crime and firearm storage. We were interested in learning whether people who live in neighborhoods that they perceive as unsafe would be more likely to store firearms unlocked – possibly so they had easier access to them.

About the project: My study examined how the overall firearm policy environment in U.S. states relates to household firearm storage behaviors. Using data from over 24,000 respondents across 13 states in the 2023 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, I analyzed whether stricter firearm laws, measured by the Giffords Law Center’s policy scorecard, were associated with safer storage practices, such as keeping firearms unloaded or locked.
About the project: My project focused on identifying opportunities to improve infant safe sleep within Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital. Taking a look at data from previous work, policies, and education materials to create strategies that support safer outcomes for infants.

About the project: Between July and October 2024, medical residents conducted rounds on the maternity floor at CMHH to assess infants’ sleep environments. Of the 588 observations made with an infant present in the bed, 33% included at least one unsafe sleep condition, most often due to items placed near the infant’s head. It was important to address this problem within the hospital to ensure that AAP safe sleep guidelines were being followed and to uphold the highest standard of care for infants born at CMHH.
About the project: This project focused on developing Version 2 of a pediatric trauma dashboard, utilizing data from the Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital trauma registry from 2018 to 2023. The dashboard allows users to explore injury patterns across time, geography, and demographics, with enhanced filtering, mapping, and trend analysis tools.

About the project: I’ve been helping with mixed-methods data collection and analysis focused on pregnancyassociated homicide, suicide, interpersonal and community violence. The overall goal of the project is to identify support services available to pregnant women in Texas, and how these services interface with violence intervention and prevention programs across the state.
