We are excited to present the Texas VIPR Webinar Series. This monthly series will explore current research, education, and advocacy as it relates to violence and injury prevention across the lifespan and in larger social and institutional structures.

Join us on the third Tuesday of each month from 12 - 1 PM, beginning April 15.

📢 Addressing Survivor Health Through Digital Hotlines

Join Dr. Leila Wood, UTHealth Professor & VIPR Director of Research, for an insightful discussion on the impact of digital hotlines for survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and trafficking. This mixed-methods study explores how chat and text hotlines support survivor health and well-being.

Leila Wood, PhD is a Professor at UTHealth and Director of Research at VIPR. Dr. Wood's work focuses on violence prevention and intervention across the lifespan.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITY

On Thursday, May 15th, VIPR is hosting a virtual training on micro-longitudinal designs with violence survivors from Dr. Tami Sullivan, Yale University. Dr. Sullivan uses micro-longitudinal and daily assessment designs to test interventions and understand health and safety needs of IPV survivors. This training will be an introduction to micro-longitudinal methods with a focus on populations experiencing violence and trauma.

CVP Named in TX Legislative Bill

The Center for Violence Prevention, VIPR’s sister Center, was named in a recent legislative bill to create a family violence criminal homicide prevention task force and to be a member of the task

We had a day filled with research presentations and discussions on preventing violence and injuries in Texas. This in-person event brought together experts and professionals in the field to share their latest findings and strategies.
